Our Native Habitat is based out of Southcentral Wisconsin, serving customers throughout the Midwest and beyond. We offer services in ecosystem restoration, environmental consultations, invasive species remediation, and urban land services. Prairie Regeneration

Black Earth, WI
This site is currently undergoing vegetation regeneration to restore it back to a natural prairie ecosystem. In the foreground is a healthy young prairie, and in the background, there is another type of prairie. Erosion control has also been incorporated into the site plan.

Prairie Burning

Black Earth, WI
There are many benefits to burning the prairie and forest ecosystems. This site is being newly managed and has been burned each of the last two years with huge success.

Stream Bank Restoration

Black Earth Creek, WI
Erosion of a streambank can cause serious problems. This site is currently being reworked with grading, rocks, and vegetation plantings to restore the area.

Invasive Species Remediation

Black Earth, WI
This area was full of non-native grasses and invasive species that were spreading to other areas. Controlling the invasive species of an ecosystem also benefits the native wildlife that depend on these diminishing habitats.

Some Facts

Invasive species eradications have become a powerful tool to prevent extinctions and restore ecosystems.
The majority of all recorded extinctions have occurred on islands with invasive species as the primary causes.
Over 100 plant species can occur in a prairie of less than 5 acres.
Prairie fires can move as fast as 600 feet per minute and burn as hot as 700 degrees fahrenheit.
